1. Varenna: (journey time 20 min) departing by bus from Colico station
Varenna is a small town near the city of Lecco, It is considered one of the most romantic villages in all of Italy thanks to it’s colourful little houses, picturesque alleyways and spectacular views of the lake and mountains.
- La passeggiata degli innamorati: La passeggiata degli innamorati in Varenna is a romantic lakeside path, suspended between water and rock, with panoramic views and a charming atmosphere.
- Villa Monastero: is a villa-museum with painted rooms, period furnishings and a well-kept botanical garden. Entrance fee.
- Villa Cipressi: has a charming panoramic garden famous for its collection of plants and flowers and balconies with lake views. It is an ideal place for walks and have some relax surronded by nature. Entrance fee
- The castle of Vezio: is a medieval fortress above Varenna (it can be reached on foot by taking the steps from the station from which you can reach a path in about 20-30 min) with a panoramic view of the lake, gardens and falconry shows. Entrance fee
2. Bellagio: (15-minute crossing) from Varenna it is possible to reach Bellagio by ferry while admiring the view of the lake.
Bellagio is a charming town on Lake Como located at the point where the lake branches off into three branches, offering spectacular views from all sides.
- Punta Spartivento: is a scenic promontory where the lake divides into three branches, spectacular at sunset, with views of mountains and villages (10-15 minutes on foot)
- Villa Melzi Gardens: these are neoclassical gardens in front of the lake, perfect for a quiet stroll and memorable shots. Entrance fee
- Parco di Villa Serbelloni: (accessible by guided tour only) is a naturalistic jewel located on a promontory separating the two branches of Lake Como. It offers nature trails with breathtaking views. Entrance fee.
From Bellagio it is possible to reach the other side of Lake Como where there are two very characteristic villas.
3. Villa Carlotta: (journey time 11 minutes) from Bellagio it is possible to reach Tremezzo by ferry oadmiring the view of the lake; after 20:00 there are no longer any connections between Bellagio and Tremezzo.

4. Villa Balbianello: (journey time 6 minutes; walk 15-20 minutes) from Tremezzo you can take the bus line C10 to Lenno and then walk to the park entrance.
Villa Balbianello is a must see for nature lovers and films lovers. It’s characterised by its elegant architecture and scenic garden, it is known for its panoramic position and for having been the set of many films, including ‘Star Wars’ and ‘007 – Casino Royale’.
