Magician of the Sausage
The shore owes its name not to tales of magic and spells but to a man known as the “magician of the sausage,” who once cooked grilled meats so delicious that they remain in the memories of the inhabitants of Colico. The beach hugs the small bay of Lake Piona, enclosed between the promontory of Olgiasca and Montecchio Sud; behind the promontory you can admire the banks and the peaks of Gravedona and Uniti.
Piona Beach
It overlooks the bay of Piona, has a small marina and is bordered by a tree-lined avenue that offers shelter from the hot summer rays in some hours of the day. From the shore you can enjoy a beautiful view of the promontory where the Cistercian Abbey of Piona stands. There is a kiosk, which also offers bar and restaurant service with the possibility of renting canoes.
Beach Villa Osio
The Villa Osio beach is ideal for those who want to combine relaxation with an invigorating walk.From this beach you can reach the long Colico lake and continue to Ontano beach 1.5 km away, enjoying all the beauty of the landscape.
Ontano Beach
It owes its name to the presence of an Ontano tree, a large lush tree that has been enthroned on the shore for decades. The shore, thanks to its large grass carpet, allows you to admire the lake and the peaks in complete relaxation. At the Ontano bar restaurant you can rent sunbeds and deck chairs, and you can take tokens for showering. On the beach there are toilets available for bathers. Here you will also have the opportunity to practice water sports: canoeing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, as well as bike rental. Adjacent to the beach there are many municipal parking lots and an equipped motorhome area.
Lido Beach
An ideal place for those who want to combine a lively and rich environment with a wonderful panorama able to remove any form of stress. The restaurant bar Lido di Colico offers the possibility to dine or have lunch by the lake. Possibility to rent deck chairs. The structure offers parking for customers and there are also some municipal parking nearby. Here you will have the possibility to practice water sports such as kite surfing and windsurfing.
La Breva Beach
Better known by residents as Beach Seven or former Sawheria del sasso and easily accessible from the station, it is characterized by the presence of wide spaces, a paradisiacal panorama and a blanket of soft grass generally moved by the Breva (the typical wind of Lake Como that blows from south to north). There is a beach volleyball court on the beach.
Wild Beach
It is a piece of land located between the mouth of the river Adda and the hill of Montecchio Nord. It can be reached from Ontano beach, following the «Sentiero Valtellina»: about 400mt after crossing a wooden bridge, turn left to reach the beach.
In this beach there are no services and by virtue of its rugged nature is the ideal destination for a relaxing day immersed in nature.
