The Valtellina path is a 114 km cycle-pedestrian path that starts from Lake Como (Colico) and slowly climbs the valley bottom flanking the river Adda to end its run in Alta Valtellina, in Bormio.
The Valtellina Path is basically a long and flat cycle path, ideal for families and for a large part dedicated exclusively to bicycles, which allows you to discover the beauty of the valley surrounded by greenery among vineyards, meadows and apple orchards.
Along the way you can find a lot of equipped rest areas where to stop for a cheerful family picnic or lunch in farms or refreshment points.
Access to the path is possible through the numerous connection points or more easily by going to one of the bridges that cross the Adda river.
The starting point of the path is located at the Colico railway station, the trains on the Colico – Tirano line allow you to load your bikes.
From the train station we will find the first signs that will take us to the Colico lakefront near the campsite.
Right on the lakeside we will also find all the signs with the possible destinations of the path and the kilometers that await us to reach them.
The railway runs parallel to most of the route: you can then arrive and depart by train with your own bicycle.
